Oh ♥

Really, this wouldn't exist if it weren't for you. I'd never even considered them as a pairing before I read "Enough Reason to Smile" and now I just adore them together. They're up there with Naomily as my OTP (can you have more than one OTP, I wonder? Is that cheating?). I know I split them up at the end of the story, but I just know they end up together. In fact, I like to think of this as existing in the same time line as your Paper Doll (which is so utterly lovely it made me cry. I need to read it through again so I can give you the comment it deserves without weeping all over the keyboard).

So yes, I'm so happy you liked it because it is, in a very real sense, yours.

It's interesting that that was your favourite line. I had so much trouble with it and I was never entirely sure it worked. I rearranged it a couple of times and it came close to getting cut or trimmed more than once (especially the bracketed bit). Obviously I was trying to make a point about Luna's somewhat otherworldly (barmy? ;) ) quality, but I was never quite convinced I succeeded. But if you liked it, I'm glad I didn't cut it, because it must have done something right.

I love writing Ginny and Luna, they're so much fun. I'm happy you think that I'm doing right by them, because I definitely want to write them again (I need to fix the ending at least, after all, because I can't not have them together ;)).
This was supposed to be set just after the end of Half Blood Prince or at the beginning of the Deathly Hallows, but I may have got the timing wrong as I haven't read them for 2 or 3 years. It's supposed to be when Ron, Hermione and Harry are looking for the Horcruxes (the bit I think of as "Eight Months in a Bloody Tent" (needed a bit of judicious editing, all I'm saying;))) so that's presumably Ginny and Luna's 6th year?
The fact that Ginny's heart is dragged in two directions is one of the things that made this so interesting to write, and it so completely dominated the tone of the thing, at least for me. For possibly the first time in my life, I knew the exact pattern of the story, beginning, middle, end - and exactly what the last scene and last line would be. I actually hate the fact that it ended on such a down beat, but I couldn't have changed it without rethinking the whole thing and making it a completely different story.

Thank you. I was sort of nervous about posting this, but the responses have been so lovely, and yours especially means so much to me ♥
