February is a short month but its discomforts are long
I think I dig out that title more or less every February, if not here then elsewhere. It's my favourite, mostly because I really hate February. Worst month ever. (It should come as no surprise to anyone who reads this even occasionally that October is my favourite).
This year, February has excelled itself, although to be fair to a much-maligned (by me, at least) month, at least some of my bad experience this week has had to do do with people (well, a person) than the time of year per se. Ho hum.
I didn't sleep on Monday night and I've been struggling to catch up all week. It's been a fairly hard one.
Gaming was fun last night though. For the first time in a while we role-played rather than board gamed, which was such a nice change (I really need to get my chapter 2 of the Call of Cthulhu campaign I'm running sorted, but currently energy and focus are kind of a problem). We played Werewolf. Not a game I've played much (or been much interested in) in the past but it was very entertaining, so.
Early morning tomorrow cos it's my Sams shift but I'm really looking forward to it as my regular shift partner of the last 7 years or so is back after several months on rest for personal reasons. I've missed her, so.
Anyway, gonna keep this short and just post a couple of Sherlock response vids from one of my favurite Youtube people. Her feelings on the subject are much like mine but she's so much more articulate XD (And I like her all the more having heard that kindness is her favourite quality in the world).
(I'm greatly intrigued by this:-

specifically the 'Quiet space in Narnia' one on June 3rd, mainly because it doesn't give any other description of what it is. Basically prayer and contemplation and whatnot, yeah, but I'm just really intrigued about where you'd bring Narnia in. (Don't tell me that it's a Christian allegory cos I think I figured that one out already :p). Were it rather closer I might check it out.
St Peter's on the Wall is near where I grew up, and in the right season it's stunning - almost 1500 years old and still in use, though it was a barn for a few hundred years. I never really go though. I can't really go to Essex without going home and I really, really don't like going home. It just makes me sad).
I hope your February is a lot better than mine :)
