Green bombs
Sep. 18th, 2006 12:49 pmNot a big reader of The Times, but this caught my eye in town yesterday:-

These people kill people for profit. Perhaps they don't pull the trigger or drop the bomb, but that, in my mind, makes them all the more worthy of condemnation. There always have been, probably always will be, reasons why people kill each other, and while few if any of them would stand up to sober consideration, none of them are going away any time soon.
People like BAE Systems provide the means, and make a profit while doing so, comfortable in the knowledge that they haven't actually dirtied their hands, and, hey, if they don't do it, somone else will. Which, to steal a counterexample from Mark Thomas, is an argument unlikely to work for your average drug dealer.
Words rather fail me, although I can't help wondering when BAE will start claiming that they're doing their bit for the problem of overpopulation.
