Sheesh. Well *that* was a quick year. And thoroughly fabulous, I have to say.
In fact, despite all the normal stresses and neuroses, I'd go so far as to say that it was one of the best of my life. At some point in the not too distant future I'll make an attempt, at least, to put down in writing exactly what it's meant to me, but that will take far longer than I have right now (I have to be over the water (that'll be the Mersey for the not-Liverpool-dwellers among you) at 7, for Chinese with [livejournal.com profile] lapanteracosi, her hubby, Siobhan and her boyfriend and, I think, a very cute goth whom I completely failed to talk to at Siobhan's party before Christmas due to the fact that I managed to set fire to myself - well my t-shirt anyway - which rather put me off my stride. And I need to spend at least an hour in the bath because today has been seemingly endless chores and I'm thoroughly knackered).

Christmas was very pleasant and relaxed (it usually is, to be honest, but that doesn't stop me dreading it and being surprised that it doesn't turn into a nightmare of stress and arguments), as was New Year (with [livejournal.com profile] corone, [livejournal.com profile] lareinemisere, [livejournal.com profile] vampadvocate and [livejournal.com profile] f1shbang (and by some complete fluke I managed to win both of the games we played. Go me ;))). And I managed to catch up with a few friends I'd not seen or spoken to for a while - always good, although the generally entertaining evening in the pub with Chris and Steve was rather tarnished by Steve's raising of a subject I'd had the poor judgement to broach at Easter (and I'd already decided then never to mention it again, because their reaction wasn't as I'd have wanted), with the words "Well you did tell us, so you've got to expect us to take the piss". Which was the prelude to several minutes of conversation which left me feeling embarrassed and rather sordid. But that's something else that would take far too long to go into now, and, besides, it was the only downside to a thoroughly enjoyable festive season.
Well, bath time now, and then I have to find my way to Lisgard without getting horribly lost - not very likely ...
A belated Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you all have a thoroughly wonderful 2007 :)
