Half of my biblically allotted total. Does that make me middle-aged, I wonder?
Well, despite approaching it with my usual "Meh. Can't be arsed", that was a rather pleasant birthday weekend. No fights, fisticuffs, people getting extremely drunk and abusing my guests. All rather civilised.
Of course, I ensured that this would be the case by splitting my celebrations over 3 nights and keeping the more childish of my friends apart. I do sometimes rather resent the necessity of doing that, but it's a small price to pay for a stress free life, and I really didn't want a repeat of last year's debacle.
So far, January's been moderately painless. Energy levels through the floor and all I want to do is sleep - which I can never get more than about 5 hours of at a time - but all perfectly normal for this time of year.
The only annoying point is that my car is in the garage *again*. Catalytic converter this time. Another couple of hundred pounds into the money pit. WORST BUY EVER. Ho hum.
