Lazy Sunday
Jan. 28th, 2007 05:40 pmWell, last night involved playing silly games with Lee and Tarek till after 4 in the morning, so unsurprisingly today has been more than a little uneventful. I managed to get out of bed at some point, but the only reason I forced myself to get dressed at all was a sudden and rather drastic lack of tea (yep, my cutting down on the caffeine really isn't happening. The quitting smoking is going a little better, though. I'm back to purely social smoking, and went through about 10 rollups last week, which isn't that bad. And at least half of those were in the pub, which won't be an option come July).
So, the score last night was:
Chez Dork (in which I got to play Gilly *squee* :) ). Game to Tarek - at the last minute too, sneaky bugger.
Settlers of Catan - game to Lee, in fairly short order.
Zombies - Lee again, although it was a close run thing (Zombies always is, mind you).
Or, to put it another way, I sucked :).
But a fun evening.
As for the rest of yesterday, it was mostly memorable for involving a blazing row with Catherine in the coffee shop in Waterstones on the reasons she and Glyn weren't invited out on Monday night (they were out for the Saturday bit of my birthday weekend instead). I have a feeling we were very loud, but she went off on one and I really didn't feel like playing the diplomat. D'oh.
Somehow I managed to do sociable things every evening last week, so I'm very much looking forward to having the next three evenings to myself. And then it'll be Wednesday again when, I sincerely hope, Ade will be in a far less strange and disruptive mood than he was last week (Lee describes him as having GM's syndrome - good when he's running stuff, a major pain as a player. If you game, you'll know the sort - their conception of their character seems to completely exclude any form of cooperative action, and the rest of the group has to spend a good deal of the game running damage control. He's not like that all the time, to be fair, but when he's in the mood, it makes for an *extremely* frustrating evening).
And now, I think, it's time for more tea and a nice long bath.
More anon.
