Ten hours into the long-threatened parental visitation (it's been 18 months since the last one, so I couldn't escape it much longer). So far at least, frayed tempers and general irritation have been kept under control, despite my being pretty severely tested. She's going home on Monday. More than 24 hours to go. Gah.
We did go to see Cloverfield tonight, which I rather liked (I don't think Mum knew what to expect. I did tell her it was sort of Blair Witch-esque, but she didn't tell me until afterwards that she hasn't seen Blair Witch). Tense, manic, pretty scary, and sort of funny. And, in case you're lacking in attention span, short.
Anyway, bed now. I'll no doubt have to get up ridiculously early to play the good host. I'm thinking of going to Alderley Edge if the weather holds. Of course, I'd rather just stay in bed all day and not talk to anyone, but I won't be getting that option.
Hope everyone's well.
