Bonus points if you can tell me where that comes from ;)
Not that it's particularly obscure or anything, so hardly a difficult quiz. Mind you, I was rather shocked to discover recently that one of my gaming group hadn't seen it! We rectified that pretty quickly, although that doesn't change the fact that he hasn't seen Firefly either, which is equally disgraceful!

Only a few hours left of my week and a bit off. Today was supposed to be doing chores and whatnot but obviously I didn't do anything other than washing clothes and straggling into town cos I was bored and needed fresh air. I did get the first volume of 'Fables' though (on the advice of both alobear and [personal profile] etcetera_cat and I'm rather enjoying it so far (though I've only read the first two parts; I was reading it in the bath and started falling asleep. I've damaged far too may books that way, although I avoided it this time). It's been far too long since I found a comic that I really enjoyed. I'm very much hoping that Fables will do it for me. The signs are good so far :)
(On a related note, I found out the other day that part 4 of Colleen Doran's 'A Distant Soil' has been available since 2006 and I just completely missed it. I thought she'd just quit on it, but she's spent so long over it that would be a bit of a shame). Amazon tells me that part 3 was published in 2001. That can't be right. God, it really doesn't seem like more than 10 years ago. Time flies :/ (and it gets faster and faster too. Grrrr D:). Of course, part 4 is out of print now, so I'll have to resort to ebay or Amazon. Hey ho. It'll give me a chance to reread all the others again, cos I really can't remember all that much. Maybe since it's been 7 years since part 4 part 5 will available some time soon.

Oooh, waffly. Sorry.
So, I had a rather lovely holiday with some very lovely people. Obviously I didn't write as much as I'd have liked. All of a thousand words :/. Every morning I'd get up and have all good intentions and most mornings I'd get distracted one way or another. But a thousand words is a thousand words. Better than nothing I suppose, especially as I'm rather blocked so I really had to struggle to get most of those on paper.
Also I have to admit that while I took a fair few books I only finished one of them and that was the second Percy Jackson book, which is hardly taxing XD. The while series is rather sub-Harry Potter to be honest but it's rather fluffy fun and I'm always a sucker for anything that incorporates Greek mythology. Obviously, my fave character so far is Annabeth (think Hermione Granger but blonde; it's honestly rather hard not to directly related characters and plots directly with Harry Potter, which may or may not be fair). There are only five of them and they're a ridiculously easy read so I'll probably read the others. (Although given how young they all are I'm really not sure how I feel about the fact that before I even read the books I'd read smut involving a couple of the characters. Oh rule 34, you never let me down :p
(As far as I can tell, Rick Riordan's new series is a similar sort of thing to Percy Jackson but using Egyptian mythology instead which could be kind of fun. My Egyptian mythology is probably even better than my Greek mythology so we'll see if that makes me more inclined to be even more picky than usual I guess.

Have I posted properly since I saw The Hunger Games? It was such a nice surprise. I'd heard a fair bit about the books but hadn't been all that interested in checking them out so I really just went to see the film to see what the squee was all about. I'm very glad I did, even despite the unexpected gruesomeness of it all. Jennifer Lawrence was fabulous as Katniss, and I came out very much wanting to know what happened next, and keen to read the books too (not that I don't have more than enough books to read already but what can you do?). So a win there, I'd say. I'd even rather like to see it again quite soon.

Did I actually have anything interesting I wanted to say? I can't even remember. I've had X-men on in the background while I've been writing this so I've been kind of distracted. Whoops.
How about a couple of rather fun vids to make this post rather less pointless XD
First off, the saga of Bjorn the Viking, which demonstrates very clearly why you should never trust a nun.

And next up is the depressive philosophising of a rather pretentious Gallic moggy (nabbed from [personal profile] corone) which is awesome!

Right, I'll stop wittering now. There shall be comments and emails and whatnot soon, fingers crossed!
I hope you're all well ♥ ♥ ♥
