Oh, you Brits and your Doctor Who. My bro in law downloaded the seasons with Eccleston and Tennant but it's so goofy! I know..I know..this from the person who sort of believes Hogwarts might be real. But still. I can't get over this new guy. He's got no eyebrows! But the girl..now that is a different story.
LOL Blasphemy ;) It's hard to explain, really. Doctor Who does have its flaws, but it's incredibly well loved over here, and I adore it. I'm loving Matt Smith as the new Doctor too. And Karen ♥ My thing for redheads is as ridiculous as yours for blondes, I think, and she's basically my fantasy made flesh :)
(And hey, Hogwarts is totally real. Didn't you know? All our schools are like that ;D)
Or Americans and American football. What the hell's that about? ;)
LOL. You'd be on the lookout for a Cara, me for an Amy. Amy would be far less scary though :) I go completely non-verbal when faced with someone I find attractive. It's pathetic really :)
Talking of LotS, I don't suppose you know of anywhere I can download it to you? I was using the links that Jen was posting but she's locked them now. Worst comes to worst I can order it from Amazon US, so it's not a huge issue.
I'd totally be on the lookout for Cara. Apparently, it's not just blonds that I'm after, but commanding blonds. I can't even get into that. I hear you, mate. I tend to get myself friend-zoned pretty consistently.
Oh, dear lord. Don't buy it, for Pete's sake! I watched most of it on youtube or downloaded! http://www.youtube.com/user/Thakisis10 That guy gets the new episodes uploaded super fast!
(Seriously, cricket. Why does it even exist? I have no idea at all. My dad loved it (who shared your name by the way. It's a boy's name over here, so I must admit it confused me for a little while when you told me :)), and I think he was very disappointed that both his children grew up hating sport, but honestly, I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch a game that involves a guy with a stick running up and down. Gah).
Oh, the friend-zone. I know it so well. It's pretty much home :D
(I just saw pirateygoodness's picspam of LotS 2.16. God, I really need to catch up. TOO MUCH PRETTY *_* *grabbyhands* :))
Thanks for the link. I have a LOT of catching up to do :)
Exactly. I was like, "let him try to make cricket sound badass."
I don't know anything about cricket except that it appeals to my sense of uniformity as being attractive, in terms of clothing- not like, personality. Seriously, I can get into anything if it has an accompanying cool outfit. I kind of wish I could wear riding kit all the time, or dress like Indiana Jones.
Yeah, the friend zone is where I tend to live as well. Though, sometimes it's my own fault because I'm so weirdly embarrassed by emotion.
Right? Get on in there! I hope the link is fruitful, and offers more than just the last few eps!
It has a certain sedate charm, I'll give it that. Doesn't make it any less boring though.
(I so wish I could pull off an Indiana Jones look. That'd sort of rock :D).
Apparently we have more than a little in common. As often as not the idea of emotional (and other) intimacy terrifies me, so I think, either unconsciously or consciously, I do anything I can to avoid it. Gah.
I'm away for a week come Wednesday but I'm gonna doing some catching up when I get back :)
Glen's eyes are on stalks whilst watching Dr Who, he likes a redhead as well!
When I met him I was still dying my hair purple, but not that long after I got a Proper Job and had to revert back to my natural colour. He was chuffed to bits when he realised I'm a ginga!
Doctor Who can be hard for people to get if they don't know how to treat it. Stephen Moffet summed it up perfectly in the Confidential for the last episode when he said he considered it "fairy tale" which is exactly what it is. Sometimes it's grim, sometimes glorious, sometimes highly technical but never quite... Real... And all the better for it.
As for Karen... Well, she's certainly extremely quite, albeit very young, and I'm liking the character so far but... He's anchient (Stephen Moffet says he lies about his age and is much older than he says), deeply traumatised, infinitly intelectually superior and never stays in one place for more than a few days (in order for Rose to get to settle down with him they have a make a copy!) so I really don't see it as ever that kind of relationship. Perhaps it is more like trying to recapture the child/children he has lost?
Karen Gillan's in her mid-twenties, so I'm not sure that counts as very young? All your points are entirely reasonable. But look at them. They're so cute together :) (But hey, maybe I should just ship Matt/Karen and be done with it :))

Date: 2010-04-18 12:01 am (UTC)The redhead is totally cute. And kind of quirky looking. Hey, at least we wouldn't ever fight over girls, so we'd make great wingmen.
I *knew* it.
