Life's sort of quiet right now, so this post will probably be pretty dull. Sorry 'bout that.

Most of the people I know in Liverpool are out of the country, so it's going to be a very quiet weekend, which is sort of nice. A number of them are currently in Oslo to watch the Eurovision Song Contest. Presumably non-ironically which, just LOLforever really. There really is no accounting for taste. Still, I've no doubt that Oslo's a gorgeous city (I've never been to Norway, but Sweden's rather lovely and I can't imagine that their architecture and whatnot is all that different. Also, the stereotype of the tall gorgeous Nordic blond? Right on the button. It's sort of uncanny. Graham, I think you'd love it ;)) so entirely worth the trip for that, if nothing else. It's sort of a shame that I can't stand to be in the company of one of the people who's gone, or I would seriously have considered going along for the ride.

Of course, if Cath hadn't been in Norway this weekend she would probably be trying very hard to drag me to see Sex and The City. So sort of a lucky escape there. I actually went with her to the last one, and it confirmed what I already knew from the few episodes that I'd seen: while three of the main characters are actually sort of likable, the Sarah Jessica Parker one makes me want to stick pins in my eyes. Seriously she's just awful. Other than that, the whole thing just left me cold. So yes, definitely a lucky escape.

Talking of tall gorgeous blonds, I finally got got to the end of the first season of Legend of the Seeker. Which means that I finally met Cara, whom a fair proportion of my f-list have spent the last few months squeeing about, so yay :). Not gonna lie, from first impressions she is kind of awesome, and I'm rather looking forward to starting on Season 2, where I've heard she seriously comes into her own. (As detailed, for example, in this post by [livejournal.com profile] trobadora.
I was a little disappointed that the special features of the DVD I got of S1 didn't include a half hour montage of Kahlan being all awesome and pneumatic (oh hai, cleavage :)), and the many, many scenes that feature Richard prettily stripped to the waist (practicing his ~carpentry skills, swimming, kicking arse, LOL whatever). Cos there would have been if I'd been in charge of producing it. Honestly, this show gives so much fab fanservice it's ridiculous (why yes, I am shallow. Thanks so much for noticing ;D).

A couple of pretty things to wind up.
This, by [livejournal.com profile] dazzleme89 again, is a gorgeous, if very dark, Skins Effy/Tony vid. The vibe is a little incestuous (deliberately so. It was posted at [livejournal.com profile] stonemcest, so what would you expect?), but it's still stunning.

And I've been rather liking this remix of La Roux's "In For The Kill" recently. Hell, I don't even know what dubstep is, but I like what I hear :)

And that's it really.
I hope everyone's fab.
♥ all.

Non-ironic watching of Eurovision is just....ironic. :) I didn't watch the performances but did catch some of the voting, and LOL at us coming last. Also, although I don't mind Graham Norton he's just not Terry Wogan.

Yay for finally meeting Cara; she's all kinds of awesome. However, it's the incredibly pretty Kahlan (with her luscious locks and ample cleavage) who totally owns my heart. *swoons*

That vid is just gorgeous, [livejournal.com profile] dazzleme89 really does make stunning vids. And, I like the vibe. ;)

I also have no idea what dub step is but I like the remix.

Apparently they had a fabulous time, which is nice :) Oslo sounds gorgeous; I so want to go. (Expensive though - like £25-for-a-pizza expensive. Gulp).

Oh, Kahlan. I ♥ her so much. She's just so sweet, and OMFG pretty! (I always feel slightly bad for being so focussed on her cleavage, though *blush*).

LOL Not gonna lie, I like the vibe too. But then, you know my thoughts on fictional incest ;)
(I have no appropriate icons except my Meg and Kat one, and it's sort of wrong to use that, but whatever :D)

I hope you had a fab weekend.

Glad your friends had a nice time. I think Scandinavia, in general, sounds beautiful; I would love to visit the Fjords and see some of the stunning architecture that part of the world has to offer.(Although, £25 for a pizza - are you shitting me? Ouch!)

Kahlan is SO pretty and I ♥ so much that I'd seriously consider pushing R under the nearest moving vehicle for her; only kidding, I think. :D (No need to feel bad, I think most people are watching for the pretty rather that the riveting story. Plus, I have exactly the same problem so I'm hardly going to criticize. Sometimes I could swear her cleavage has ~magical powers because it's just so hypnotic :P)

LOL, vibe twin ;)

My weekend turned out busier than expected, but pleasant, except for the screaming children. Ugh, I hate seriously dislike young children. I hope you managed to get rid of your headache and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

LOL Nope, straight up. It's no wonder you don't see many overweight Scandinavians.

Kahlan definitely has some sort of magic going on there :)
Oh, and how does she manage to kick that much arse in tops that revealing and still keep her modesty intact? I've a feeling that particular magic is thanks to the wardrobe department ;)

Oh, and talking of twins (please to be noting my almost seamless segue, thanks ;)) have you read [livejournal.com profile] likecharity's When the Colours Start to Run (http://likecharity.livejournal.com/103761.html)? It's fabulous.

The headache was mostly gone by Sunday evening, which is nice.
(Sharing your opinions of young children here too :)).

Haha, you have a good point.

Ah, the LotS wardrobe department - it's nothing short of a miracle how they manage to maintain her modesty; I'd quit my job and work for nothing for a position there. I honestly can't think of anything more rewarding than being able to give Bridget and Tabrett a hand into (and out of) their costumes. Hell, I'd pay them to work there :P

Excellent, more twin fics (very smoothly done ;)) I've heard of [livejournal.com profile] likecharity, but I haven't read any of their work. I shall add it to my reading list.

I'm pleased your headache didn't last the whole bank holiday.
(I like how we share opinions :))

ps.I haven't forgotten that I owe you a message about your 'fic of wrong' :P it's just that I've been having a shitty week and haven't got a round to it, but I will :)

LOL
Perv :p
(Well, hello pot. Meet kettle ...).

I've only read a few of [livejournal.com profile] likecharity's stories, but what I have read are fab (she's written a lovely little Ginny/Luna PWP as well. I'll dig out the link when I get a moment, if you like). I'm currently extremely intrigued by her Narnia RPF.

I'm sorry you've had a shitty week. I hope it's getting better - or at least, that you have a chance to relax at the weekend.
I'll look forward to your mail, don't worry at all if it takes you a while to respond :)
