Busy, busy, busy!
Hi!
God, so busy. And obviously today I managed to fritter away most of today being all knackered and needing recover from the rest of the week. Annoying! (Also annoying: a boiler that only works about 50% of the time, and so I have to boil water to wash the other 50%. Twice, I've had someone to look at it, but because the fault is intermittent, it's kind of hard to track down. If it carries on, he'll have to start replacing the expensive bits. Boo).
The Skins Big Bang seems to be a massive success, and I'm very much enjoying my beta-ing duties. I occasionally think I've bitten off a little more than I can chew, but hey, I like doing it, so (it's like: I have actual permission to be pedantic at people, and they can't complain. How good is that? :p ).
And talking of the Skins BB, our glorious leader (AKA
shan_3414 :)) made this a few days ago, and god, it's so lovely. It makes all kinds of nostalgic. Just beautiful.
And this is utterly lovely, too (ganked from

The third and last episode of Sherlock was rather fabulous, but it was kind of disappointing that they felt the need to do the reveal of the Big Bad so early. Had the season actually been a decent length (3 episodes is just stupidly short) it would have been a perfect way to end the season finale, but as it was, it just seemed rather rushed. Still, Moriarty was excellent, and played crazy, scary, bad really rather entertainingly, so. And given that cliff-hanger, they obviously plan on making more, so there's that to look forward to.
I'm currently taking a break from all the angst of my little Narnia story by writing ridiculously over-the-top threesome smut. It's kinda fun :p
And my down-time has mostly been spent catching up on Pretty Little Liars, Legend of the Seeker, and old episodes of Doctor Who, of course :D. Also, just because, I'm rereading Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, for the first time since 1998. I took when I went to Cornwall for the total eclipse with Steve, Mark and Lou, so that's making me feel feel kind of nostalgic too. I'm so enjoying the first appearances of Ginny though. And I just love that the first thing she says is to have a go at Draco to defend Harry. That's our Gin ♥
I hope you're all having a fabulous summer :D

Ugh, that sucks about your boiler. Best thing about living in apartments is there are people who have to fix and pay for those things for you! And you never have to mow the lawn.
I only watched the first 2-3 episodes of PLL so far, thinking about catching up on it but it's almost solely for Emily and the lesbian storyline, so I'm not sure if I'm going to bother.

I'm not the moat practical person (LOL understatement) so just dealing with tradesmen and stuff to get things like broken boilers sorted out is kinda painful :/
Twas working today though. Maybe it'll stay that way :)
PLL is very pretty, and very much a guilty pleasure. I can certainly see why it would fail to keep your interest. It's not exactly quality TV. I like it though :)

PLL is my new guilty pleasure. I can't help that my shallowness likes the pretty, lol.

Totally with you with on the love of the pretty. They may not be the greatest actors, but they really are ridiculously attractive :)
(LOL at Bianca Lawson playing Maya though. She's in her 30s and playing a 16 year old. What, there was no one vaguely age appropriate at all?)

Very, very super pretty, lol.
(lol, I know, right? she does look pretty good though, and like none of them is actually 16, but i think I read somewhere the one who plays Alison is like 14 which threw me. :/)
(Oh, and i haven't written a word in going on 4 days :/.)

(I know it's common enough for people in their 20s to play teenagers, especially in American teen drama but honestly, 30-odd is taking it a bit far. She's hardly that great an actress that someone a little younger couldn't have done the job just as well, or better).
(Writer's block? Or other things getting in the way? Either way, maybe a few days' break was what you needed? I hope it doesn't last too long, though :))

(Neither really. Or maybe a bit of both. It's just like a total lack of motivation to write anything and a decrease in my interest in the fandom in general. I'm kind of worried that the longer I don't write for, the less likely I am to finish any of these fics. :/)

I'm not quite sure what to suggest. Maybe a total break from any writing, or even thinking you should be writing, for a while would help? Or perhaps you should just focus on one of your WiPs and see how that goes? Or maybe a focus on a different fandom for a while, or on your novel?
I don't know, really.
I hope you get over your funk soon, though ♥

I just wrote 5 words, so maybe that'll break it, lol.
Thanks. :)

Sorry to hear about your boiler. I hate it when that happens. Ridiculously OTT threeway smut you say? I'm interested! Also, sorry about not getting back to you sooner about my BB fic but I've suffered a bit of writer's block for the last few days and I just got back into it now due to re-watching Skins and looking for inspiration and I'm feeling it again, hence the new Keffy icon. =P
PLL is great. Half of the time I'm thinking "what am I doing watching this?" and the other half I just love it for its prettiness. =)

Thanks. It seems to be better today, I just wish it would either break completely so I can get it fixed properly or just bloody work :/
The ridiculous smut is currently seeming endless. I hope to have it finished in a week or so though. Yay :)
No hurry on your BB fic. Whenever you're ready, yeah? Writer's block sucks. I hope your inspiration is well and truly back!

LOL I think that's pretty much everyone's feelings on PLL. It's hardly quality TV, but it's lots of fun, and ridiculously pretty :D
Loving the icon. So cute ♥

(I'll insert more grammatically errors if you like. As a token of my affections for you.)
How good is Shan though, really? She's like the queen of vids.
Boo to continued boiler disaster!

If you hadn't said anything, I would have thought you'd done it ~ironically :P
BTW That's the cutest little Weeping Angel ever :D

Shan's just fab :D
(My boiler was in a good mood today. Hopefully it'll stay that way. Maybe it requires blood sacrifice or something :D).
(ICON ♥ ♥ ♥ Is it wrong that I'm rather touched that you used your most explicitly incestuous icon?)

I've not had a chance to look at the other vids at the link you posted yet, but you mentioned that BSG had the best vidders. Have you seen this one? It's my favourite vid ever. It always makes me cry :')

And gah, I still haven't gotten round to watching Sherlock. I have too many things to watch!!

My entire life seems to be spent catching up on stuff. I'm constantly behind. Oh, if only there weren't so many good shows :)
Sherlocks ace. The only annoying thing about it is the episodes are all 90 minutes long, and I have the attention span of a gnat :D

Sometimes I look at your site because you are friends with some of my friends, people I like quite a bit. So it would seem I would like you too.
Then I saw this video the "How to Be Alone" you shared...and that is mighty, mighty awesome. So, now I'm sure...do like...may I friend you?
Also, saving Sherlock for a rainy weekend...soon I hope.

Friend away, I've friended you back :)
I've seen you around too, especially on
I update kind of sporadically, and it's mostly just silly things, and stuff I think is pretty. Hopefully some of it will be stuff you like too :D
Oh, and I'm Simon, by the way. Please to meet you :D

Thanks for the friend-add.
I rarely update LJ anymore, I only read and comment. And precious little of that anymore. But sometimes, something catches my eye and moves me to act :).
And yes, it's odd and quite distressing when good people disappear--
It's nice to finally meet you.
And I am called Snake.
