prunesquallormd: (Willow - I am become death ...)

3 days to go to Christmas and I still have to get something for my brother and my sister-in-law. I even went so far as to ask her what she might fancy, to which she responded, 'oh, you know, a book or a CD'. Which is the single most useless suggestion ever because I've known her for a decade and a half and I've always got her a book or a CD. It's basically what I do with anyone (although obviously, it's far easier to get presents for people I know well, and actually like). I thought about the new Norah Jones CD for her, because it strikes me as being suitably middle of the road, but reading the reviews it seems to be about the collapse of a relationship, and given the not entirely happy state of their marriage it might not be the most thoughtful present. Bugger.
I don't know. Micheal Bubble maybe? That's about as middle of the road as you can get. (Hell, it's a shame that Coldplay doesn't have a new album out. That'd be perfect). Or I could go the other way and buy her a Slayer or a Napalm Death CD. That'd teach her to be more specific.

Oh well, sitting here isn't going to get it done. God it's horrible outside. Wish me luck (and if anyone has any suggestions, that'd be good too).

Happy Christmas, all.

(Is that the I haven't met you yet one? It's on the radio when I go into work every bloody day. It's driving me insane),

I've been known to do that :)
The last CD I bought my brother was a Dead Can Dance CD(Into the Labyrinth), because it contained my fave DCD song ever, The Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT9Pn64Xusg), which is just fabulous. He hated it. Major fail :D

(Yeah that's the one... I can't cope with how he says certain words, like 'life-ah' and 'out-ah' *shudders*)

LOL, oops. Maybe don't do that again then. But they should be more specific. My sister said 'kitchen stuff' this year - so, what? Novelty potato peeler and a decent masher? Cos that's what I'd want! But she's a proper girl so IDK.

What about the Live Lounge CD? It's a double one. Or you could get her something particularly awful (Best of Cilla Black or something) and say that someone recommended it ;)

Kitchen stuff. LOL. Useful suggestion ;D But at least it narrows it down a little.

(One of my gaming group got me a mug commemorating that lesser known classic of children's literature "Peter Rabbit, Tank Killer", which was a product of the only collaboration between Beatrix Potter and Sven Hassel, author of such classics as 'SS Death Bastard Regiment'. (NB it is possible that some or all of that previous sentence may not be true :D). It's hilarious :) (of course it may be that gamer's humour is a little outside the norm ...)).

Cila Black. LOL. That would just be too cruel ;)

Someone actually doctored the entire Tales of Peter Rabbit, and put it online, which is where my friend got the picture to get the mug. It's here (http://www.strategypage.com/humor/articles/military_jokes_200691721.asp) (the mug print is on this page).
Some people have too much time on their hands, but in a good way :D
